Jason J. Knight is the founder and creative director of Knight Wave Radio™, a digital music and faith-media project combining original music, biblical messages, podcasts and cinematic storytelling.
A retired U.S. Army veteran with more than twenty years of service, Jason brings together a lifetime of faith, music, military leadership and live-production experience. His work is grounded in one conviction: people need truth more than noise and hope more than hype.
Raised in Grand Chain, Illinois, Jason’s musical journey began when he performed in a Pentecostal church at ten years old. He later learned to play the harmonica, beginning a lifelong exploration of blues, hip-hop, reggae, gospel and other musical traditions.
Jason joined the United States Army in 1995 and served as an M1A1 tank driver. While stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, he began performing around Tacoma and Seattle as a reggae and rap artist.
After transferring to V Corps in Heidelberg, Germany, Jason began combining blues harmonica with DJ-driven hip-hop and electronic music. He called the developing sound “Blues Hop.” That experimentation led to radio appearances and performances for audiences throughout Germany and other parts of Europe.
During his deployments to Iraq, music took on a deeper purpose. Jason connected with other soldiers who had brought instruments from home, and together they played blues to help lift morale. He performed the national anthem on harmonica as soldiers gathered in the desert—many reflecting on the families and lives they had left behind.
Those experiences taught Jason that music could do more than entertain. It could reach people during difficult moments, give expression to unspoken emotions and remind them that they were not alone.
From 2010 through 2013, Jason served with U.S. Army Entertainment as a technical director supporting the Army Soldier Show and Army Concert Series.
His responsibilities included stage design, lighting, audio, theatrical equipment, rigging systems, transportation planning and the safe execution of more than 200 live performances. He also trained personnel in staging, equipment maintenance, production safety and concert operations.
Jason later worked in civilian concert and event production, supporting major performances, festivals and conferences. His work included lighting, staging, rigging, mobile-stage construction and production support for events such as Austin City Limits, Hangout Music Festival and Memphis in May.
The audience normally sees the artist standing in the spotlight. Jason learned how much work happens behind that spotlight—and how leadership, preparation and technical discipline can turn an idea into an experience.
Knight Wave Radio™ grew from the different parts of Jason’s life: church music, international performance, military service, live production, personal testimony and a desire to communicate faith honestly.
It is not a traditional terrestrial radio station or a fictional band. It is a digital music and faith-media project created and directed by Jason J. Knight.
Through Knight Wave Radio™, Jason develops original music, podcasts, faith-centered messages and cinematic visual stories. The project uses different sounds, languages and creative formats to reach people across cultural and geographic boundaries.
The purpose is not to imitate traditional Christian media. It is to create a contemporary space where faith, music, culture and honest conversation can meet.
One Message. Many Sounds. One Mission.
Jason writes the lyrics and develops the message, concept, narrative and creative direction behind Knight Wave Radio™.
AI-enabled production tools are used to help create the project’s voices, music and cinematic world under Jason’s direction. These tools are part of the production process; they do not replace Jason’s authorship, testimony, judgment or responsibility for the finished work.
Jason performs publicly as the project’s DJ and presenter—not as its vocalist.
His role brings together songwriting, production, storytelling, technical direction and presentation. The sound may change from one project to another, but the creative direction and message remain consistent.
Jason’s faith is central to his work.
Knight Wave Radio™ was built to share biblical encouragement, address difficult questions and remind people that God has not abandoned them during uncertain seasons.
The message is not that life will always be easy. It is that silence does not mean absence, waiting does not mean rejection and hardship does not have the final word.
Jason’s mission is to point people back to Jesus Christ, encourage believers and create work that can reach someone who might never walk into a traditional church setting.
No chaser. Only truth.
Stay awake. Stay sober. Stay consecrated.
